Second stage of campaign is in full effect
Last summer, the Association of Fabricants of Automatic Doors of Murcia implemented a campaign to increase awareness for the safe use of automatic doors: “Automatic doors, more than just a passage area”. This strategy has included several activities over the last few months culminating in a decalogue of preventative measures.
The cornerstone for this campaign is that automatic doors are a constant in residential areas, public buildings and retail properties. This means that we’re exposed to this implement (whether we like it or not); therefore, security has necessarily become a primary issue.
Automatic doors and its risks
Many seem to overlook the fact that automatic doors are machines and, as such, they involve certain risks. They must be subject to the same security parameters as would any other machine. For this reason, actions such as the development of a decalogue for security measures is much needed.
The goal of this manual is to provide users with knowledge about security regulations for proper use of automatic doors. It also serves the purpose of reminding users of their obligations regarding maintenance tasks. Automatic doors must go through follow-up revisions on a regular basis to ensure security.
In order for these actions to be successful and guarantee a risk-free use of automatic doors, the AFIPA is dedicating its efforts to sharing the decalogue through frequent communication on social media and other activities.
